Assistant Lifeline Medical Director - Emergency Medicine Physician

Indiana University Health is seeking an Assistant Lifeline Medical Director to provide statewide oversight of the IU Health Lifeline EMS division, delivering medical oversight for policies, procedures, and clinical scope of care for critical care air and ground services for all ages. This position will primarily be at Methodist or Eskenazi Hospitals but can also cover our community sites.

• Full‑time clinical with academic responsibilities
• 16 hours a month of administrative time spent with the Lifeline team

• Candidate must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine

U.S. News & World Report recognizes IU Health Methodist Hospital as a large tertiary referral center with 1,000 beds and over 130 ICU beds. It serves as the largest trauma center in Indianapolis and a highly subspecialized center for cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, lung transplantation, and neurocritical care. IU Health is building a new downtown hospital and campus, which will consolidate operations of the adjacent IU Health Methodist and University Hospitals.

Construction for the new hospital is well underway and expected to open in late 2027. It will feature three 16‑story towers with 864 beds. IU School of Medicine is also constructing a medical education and research building directly east of the new hospital.
