The Editorial Booking Producer plays a critical role in Audiochuck’s editorial and production process by identifying, securing, and managing guests, interview subjects, and expert contributors across our slate of shows, including Crime Junkie, The Deck, and other Audiochuck original and co-produced series.
This role sits at the intersection of research, outreach, and production—building trusted relationships with law enforcement officials, victims’ families, advocates, and subject-matter experts while ensuring interviews are handled with professionalism, empathy, and journalistic integrity. The Editorial Booking Producer collaborates closely with reporters, producers, and editors to support compelling, ethical, and accurate storytelling.
What You’ll Do- Identify and secure guests, experts, and interview subjects based on story needs and editorial direction
- Conduct thoughtful, professional outreach to law enforcement agencies, legal professionals, victims’ families, advocates, and community members
- Pre-interview guests to assess fit, gather relevant details, and prepare hosts, producers, and reporters for interviews
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for guest participation across multiple shows and formats
- Manage interview logistics including consent forms, releases, documentation, and technical coordination
- Support recording sessions by coordinating call times, locations, and guest needs
- Maintain clear, organized communication with guests before, during, and after interviews
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, and editors to ensure bookings align with production timelines and editorial goals
- Contribute to story development by proactively identifying new leads, sources, and experts
- Maintain accurate records, notes, call logs, and booking documentation in shared systems
- Uphold Audiochuck’s journalistic, ethical, and confidentiality standards when handling sensitive information
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in editorial production, booking, guest coordination, or journalism (podcasting, documentary, or broadcast preferred)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage sensitively with vulnerable or high-stakes subjects
- Proven ability to manage multiple bookings, deadlines, and workflows simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-paced editorial environments
- Familiarity with interview workflows and production processes
- Proficiency with scheduling and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Wrike, or similar platforms
- Preferred:
Experience in true crime, documentary storytelling, or investigative journalism
