We are seeking an experienced Paving Foreman to lead asphalt paving operations in Pendleton, IN. This full-time onsite role is responsible for supervising field crews, maintaining production efficiency, and ensuring that paving projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to high-quality standards.
This position is ideal for a seasoned asphalt professional who understands grading, slope control, drainage principles, and paving specifications. The successful candidate will take ownership of daily crew management, monitor production metrics, and ensure smooth coordination between job sites and asphalt plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct daily operations of asphalt paving crews
- Promote safety, accountability, and teamwork on all job sites
- Ensure paving activities meet quality standards and production goals
- Monitor crew productivity, labor hours, material usage, and trucking logistics
- Calculate hauling requirements based on plant distance and job quantities
- Read and interpret construction plans, grades, and slope requirements
- Coordinate daily production schedules with asphalt plants
- Identify potential delays or productivity issues and implement corrective actions
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members to maintain strong performance standards
- Maintain open, professional communication with team members and management
- Proven experience in asphalt paving and heavy civil construction
- Prior leadership or foreman experience managing paving crews
- Strong knowledge of grading, slope, drainage, and asphalt placement techniques
- Ability to manage manpower, equipment, trucking, and material quantities
- Effective verbal communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Pendleton, IN
- Physically capable of working in demanding outdoor construction environments
