responsible for job costs, hiring key positions within the group, resolving all field issues and meeting project schedules.
essential duties & responsibilities- establish work plans and schedules
- work closely with other superintendents and owner’s representative to coordinate job schedule, changes and any construction issues that arise
- work closely with other superintendents to ensure all work complies with drawings and specifications
- assist in reviewing project bids once a month
- assist the project manager with the production of pay estimates and developing change orders
- resolve all field construction issues
- review, evaluate, and correct any daily cost, timesheets, truck, and equipment usage issues
- team with area manager and other superintendents in maintaining communication with unions and resolving jurisdictional disputes.
- monitor employee compliance with safety program requirements and other company policies
- create teamwork and communication between all disciplines of work in the area
- ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of heavy highway/civil construction experience preferred
- complete understanding of all field operations and construction methods for those operations
- strong quantitative and analytical skills
- exceptional organizational skills
- adaptable and able to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
- proficiency in microsoft word and excel essential
- problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
- self‑motivated; ability to work independently
- good written and verbal communication skills
