Classroom Aide – Part Time – Head Start Birth‑5 Center

We are hiring a part‑time Classroom Aide to support the Head Start Birth‑5 Center, working 28 hours per week. The role provides classroom, playground, cook, or custodial support throughout the center and varies by schedule. Applicants must have good communication skills with children and families and display positive interaction with infants, toddlers, and preschool children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Applicants must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical and complete an annual T.B. test.

Requirements

• A High School diploma or equivalent required; experience with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children preferred.
• Obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) within one year of hire. LHDC may provide on‑the‑job training.
• Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including Head Start Standards of Conduct, federal and state criminal history requirements, sex offender registry checks, drug screen, physical and complete an annual T.B. test.
