Overview
VCI is offering Hybrid/remote opportunities for Administrative/General Clerk roles working for the Office of Human Resources Processing Center for U.S. Government Agency Administrative Support Services in Indianapolis, IN.
Duties / ResponsibilitiesThe duties of this position are developmental in nature and may include (but not limited to):
- Process personnel actions for CBP employees
- Calculate service computation dates and federal benefit dates
- Answer applicant status and employee inquiries via telephone, voice mail, and email
- Prepare/file/store employee selection folders
- Update applicant contact information and inquiries in tracking system
- Answer and respond to applicants and employees from Customer Inquiry line via phone and email
- Track and update electronic calendars
- Prepare correspondence packages
- Provide assistance to Local Property Officer with equipment and asset management
- Scan/upload accurate and legible documents into employee eOPFs
- Adhere to Office of Personnel Management’s Guide to Personnel Record Keeping and other internal guidance
- Ensure timely monthly shipments to OPF scanning/storage facility
- Scan loose new hire documents to internal share drive and into employee eOPFs
- Provide access to and password resets for USDA systems and E-Verify
- Assist with Employee Personal Page (EPP) password resets
- Review, certify, process timecards, and track attendance
- Conduct inventory of office equipment and supplies
- PIV card administrator and issuer
Minimum qualifications and requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Active Public Trust Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one
- 1 year (prefer 2 years minimum) demonstrating experience in the following: problem-solving techniques and analytical skills; reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English; ability to perform multiple tasks and work well with others; ability to organize work and establish priorities; proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
Additional duties for Contract personnel assigned to the Employee Services Branch and Processing Branch:
- Manage systems access requests
- Provide access to and password resets for USDA systems and E-Verify
- Complete EPP password resets
- Process multiple personnel awards
- Review Official Personnel Folders to adjust service computation dates
- Assist HR Specialist with special projects and assignments
- Oversee tasks assigned to contract HR assistants
- Train various personnel in USDA systems
- Create responses to applicants and employees from Customer Inquiry line via phone and email
Clerk II Minimum Requirements (see above for common requirements):
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Active Public Trust Clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one
- 1 year (prefer 2 years minimum) demonstrating experience in the following: problem-solving techniques and analytical skills; reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English; ability to perform multiple tasks and work well with others; ability to organize work and establish priorities; proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
Administrative/Clerk III Employee Services & Processing duties include the following:

Minimum Requirements:

- 4 years (prefer 5 years minimum) demonstrating experience in the following: problem-solving techniques and analytical skills; reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English; ability to perform multiple tasks and work well with others; ability to organize work and establish priorities; proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe
Education and experience per DHS Labor Categories: HS and five years of experience.
Minimum requirements:
HS;
Four years of experience.
