Job Description:

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the physician’s office and surgical scheduling to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations. This includes scheduling in-office appointments and new patient referrals according to physician protocols, coordinating surgical procedures, securing required authorizations and pre-certifications, and verifying insurance eligibility.

The role requires consistent communication with physicians, administrative staff, patients, and external facilities to ensure all appointments, procedures, and follow-up care are accurately arranged and supported with the appropriate documentation. Additionally, the Scheduling Coordinator provides backup coverage for colleagues, handles patient communications through calls, texts, faxes, and messages, and performs various general office duties.

Experience:

• Computer literacy with the ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute and a general understanding of basic computer systems.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft applications is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow through on tasks are essential.
• Candidates must possess excellent telephone communication skills and be capable of adapting to changing priorities, deadlines, and urgent situations.

Education:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two-year college degree, and/or two years office or related experience.

Work Hours:

8 AM-4:30 PM or 8:30 AM-5 PM

Position Type: Temporary

Pay Range: $21.00 - $32.00 per hour
