Backhaul Direct is seeking an experienced Account Receivable & Billing Manager to lead our revenue cycle operations and oversee the daily functions of our Accounts Receivable and Billing team. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and timely cash flow across the organization.

This leader will be responsible for managing the accounting specialists who support our invoicing, collections, and payment processes while also driving process improvements that support the continued growth of Backhaul Direct.

What will you do as the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor?
  • Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Receivable team of Accounting Specialists
  • Ensure invoices are generated accurately and distributed in a timely manner to support strong cash flow
  • Monitor collections activity and work with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve billing discrepancies or payment delays
  • Establish and maintain effective revenue cycle processes and internal controls consistent with company policy and GAAP
  • Supervise, coach, and develop a team of accounting specialists while fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment
  • Partner with the CFO to improve operational workflows and identify opportunities for automation or system improvements
  • Review and analyze billing and receivables performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure all customer documentation and billing support materials are properly maintained and audit ready
  • Support month-end close activities and assist with internal and external financial reporting deadlines
  • Lead process improvement initiatives designed to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the accounting operations team
  • Assist with complex customer account issues, escalated receivables, and special accounting projects as needed
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, and customer service teams to support accurate billing and strong customer relationships
What are the qualifications of the Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Supervisor?
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with a focus on accounts receivable, billing, or revenue cycle operations
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or high-volume transactional environments is a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Net Suite preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external customers
  • Proven ability to identify process improvements and implement operational efficiencies
