We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to support our evolving Finance and Accounting team. This individual contributor role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities with focus on adhering to deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

This position is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and accounting. This person will ensure employees are paid accurately and timely, and that payroll is accurately recorded in the general ledger. This position will reconcile all payroll and benefit-related balance sheet accounts.

The Payroll Accountant will play a critical role in supporting accurate financial operations and compliance, while identifying ways to improve processes and data insights with an opportunity to deepen your impact and grow alongside the business.

• Process weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payrolls.
• Maintain employee payroll and benefits records including new employee set up, pay rate changes, and benefit deduction changes.
• Ensure payroll accounting is recorded accurately in the general ledger and prepare all payroll-related balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and reconcile other key general ledger accounts such as cash, prepaids, inventory, and accruals.
• Support fixed asset accounting and ensure compliance with capitalization policies.
• Review and document accounting procedures and internal control processes for consistency and improvement.
• Assist with financial statement preparation by compiling support schedules and disclosures and assist with responding to requests of outside auditors.

• At least 2 years’ experience processing payroll and benefits.
• At least 2 years' accounting experience, including preparation of journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Ability to work independently and identify process or data issues before they escalated.
• Clear communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
• High level of integrity and professionalism with confidential and sensitive data.
