Location: Indianapolis
Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable & Receivable (includes invoicing, cash applications, and vendor/customer maintenance)
- Setting up new customers and vendors in the ERP system
- Prepare and process ACH payments and check runs
- Assist in applying credit memos, researching deductions, and resolving billing issues
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations and prepare financial schedules
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash applications
- Prepare and file sales and tax returns
- Assist with quarterly and year-end close processes and financial audits
- Prepare reports and financial summaries for management
- Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOM) and standard costs
- Reconcile inventory balances (raw materials, WIP, finished goods)
- Apply inventory write-offs and coordinate physical inventory counts
- Collaborate with production and shipping to ensure inventory accuracy
- Maintain inventory valuation schedules
- Assist with ERP and EDI troubleshooting system (Sage 100 and Transaction Manager)
- Document accounting procedures and contribute to creating SOP manuals
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
- Communicate daily with production and shipping teams for operational alignment
- Support and advise the accounting team on routine activities and continuous improvement
- Assist in creating and monitoring changes in accounting workflows
- Crosstrain in other areas of accounting to provide flexible support during absences
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related required
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience is required
- Microsoft Outlook
- Sage 100 or similar system
- Knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, BOM and inventory valuation is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Professional demeanor, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Adaptable and able to work with diverse personality types in a team setting
