Job SummaryOur client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join their team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing financial guidance to management. This role requires the candidate to be on‑site at the client's office in Indianapolis three days per week.
Responsibilities- Conduct month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Review journal entries and reconciliations completed by Staff Accountants.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights to management on financial performance.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during annual and interim audits.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting department.
- Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in accounting or related field.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
