An Information Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical and informational support to employees, customers, or internal teams by managing data, troubleshooting system issues, and ensuring smooth access to digital resources. This role helps maintain information systems, supports users with technical inquiries, and ensures accurate data management across platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical and information support to staff and customers regarding systems, databases, and applications.
- Respond to support requests, troubleshoot issues, and resolve system or access problems in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update organizational databases and information systems.
- Assist users with software, hardware, and network‑related issues.
- Monitor system performance and report technical problems to the appropriate IT teams.
- Create and maintain documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
- Ensure the accuracy, security, and confidentiality of information and data.
- Train staff on system usage and best practices when needed.
- Collaborate with IT, operations, and other departments to improve information workflows.
- Track and document support requests using ticketing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems
, or a related field (or equivalent experience). - Proven experience in technical support, information management, or help desk roles.
- Strong understanding of computer systems, databases, and office software.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize tasks.
- Experience with help desk or ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of data management and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with network troubleshooting and system administration basics.
- Ability to train and support users with varying technical skill levels.
