We are looking for top talent to join the expanding Bechtel Renewables & Clean Power business line to deliver the latest in our long-term portfolio of natural gas fired combined cycle power projects. This Project is a nominal 640MW single unit that will provide consistent electrical power to the regional grid. Bechtel is currently supporting our customer to define the scope and design basis for the Project which will utilize advanced gas turbine technology to deliver reliable and responsive electric power generation.

The position will initially be based in the Reston, VA office (single status) to support preconstruction and project planning activities, followed by a long‑term field assignment at the project site in Sullivan County, Indiana upon mobilization.

• Manages the organization and direction of construction and related activities of a single construction project, including actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.
• Acts as primary client contact for all project field activities.
• Oversees total site management including supervision of construction craft personnel, field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and craft resource personnel as applicable.
• Maintains client relationship and is the primary contact for client’s communication with the field activities and effective relation with other functional departments.
• Coordinates all project contractual activities. and participates in the development of contract, subcontract, or vendor scopes of work, budgets, contract formation, and negotiations

Planning

• Oversees jobsite expenditures for labor equipment, material & services and ensures field operations are within the budget.
• Establishes project field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures as necessitated by conditions at a jobsite.
• Develops, implements, and administers a jobsite security plan and coordinates the activities with corporate security.

Safety & Quality

• Ensures development and execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.
• Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering specifications.

Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience or 19+ years of relevant work experience.

• Previous experience delivering a combined cycle power plant, and leading project teams either as an Area Manager, Area Superintendent, Project Field Engineer, Project Field Superintendent, Site Manager or equivalent.
• 10+ years of construction experience in process plant and/or combined cycle power plant construction. Preference given to those with 5+ years of gas turbine or combined cycle project experience.
• Experience managing projects executed under a building trades agreement (union craft professionals) is desirable.
