Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager with expertise in reverse logistics to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for route planning, execution, optimisation, and cost control while ensuring seamless logistics operations and timely pickups. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, vendor management experience, and a deep understanding of third-party logistics operations in India.
Requirements &
Key Responsibilities:
1. Experience & Expertise:
o 5-7 years of experience in logistics and reverse logistics operations.
o Strong knowledge of third-party transportation logistics and vendor ecosystems in India.
2. Pickup Planning & Execution:
o Plan pickups within 24 hours of ticket creation and ensure timely execution.
o Optimize vehicle deployment for cost efficiency and effective pickup schedules.
3. Route Optimization & Cost Control:
o Implement strategies to reduce transit time and logistics costs.
o Ensure load consolidation for cost-efficient transportation.
o Develop and execute contingency plans (Plan
B) for unforeseen issues.
o Analyze vehicle efficiency, minimizing empty return trips.
4. Tracking & Operations Management:
o Maintain real-time shipment tracking and visibility.
o Ensure timely trip closure in the system.
o Prepare periodic reports and recommend process improvements.
5. Documentation & Compliance:
o Oversee accurate and timely invoicing and transport documentation.
o Ensure all logistics operations follow company SOPs and safety guidelines.
6. Vendor & Transporter Management:
o Experience in contract & rate negotiations with transporters.
o Ability to guide the logistics team on cost-efficient sourcing, route planning, and execution.
o Strong experience in transport relationship management and vendor development.
7. Technical & Analytical
Skills:
o Proficiency in MS Office and logistics software (TMS, WMS, ERP, etc.).
o Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
8. Communication & Leadership:
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders, transporters, and vendors.
o Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and drive operational efficiency.
