Job Overview

The Executive - Port Operations - Dry role is a mid-level, full-time position based at Uran, Mundra, and Kandla ports. This role focuses on overseeing the port operations related to dry agricultural commodities, ensuring smooth alignment between warehousing, logistics, and both import and export activities within Reliance Retail's dynamic supply chain network.

Qualifications And Skills

Provide inputs towards rate and space optimization in Warehousing and logistics networking & MIS.
Support in making major decisions related to increasing volumes for trade, import & export through respective Port/Ports.
Stay agile and seek any benefits passed by Port authorities/government bodies customer-wise/commodity-wise and communicate them internally.
Execute the best practices and innovative methods of execution at the port followed by competition or other relevant industries for trade in order to leverage efficient supply chain capabilities.
Work closely with the trade team to align import/export activities, documentations, and planning according to the import/export plans.
Develop, review, and monitor trackers for Port space utilization & scheduling, TAT for invoicing, GRN & issuing for IV, Commodity-wise landed/dispatch expenses, and compliances.
Maintain detention and demurrage trackers for inward and dispatches.
Manage labour, transportation, and CHA to execute the Intime import/export activities with complete documentation and compliance.
Coordinate day-to-day activities with port/government/private authorities to crosscheck and complete the due procedures/documentation for import/export commodity-wise/country-wise.
Highlight any deviations in the process/quality/scheduling of commodities for inward/outward to the management.
Execute vessel loading and discharge plans, ensure container availability, and analyse expenses.
Look for ways to reduce supply chain costs while improving service quality. Minimize detention and demurrage issues.
Oversee the implementation of workflow improvements to optimize available resources and automate operations for smoother handling.

Roles And Responsibilities

Manage daily port operations at Uran, Mundra, and Kandla for dry cargo, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry best practices.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to oversee the timely receipt, unloading, storage, and dispatch of dry agricultural commodities.
Supervise warehousing integration with port logistics, ensuring smooth transition and inventory management through robust coordination.
Develop and maintain efficient logistics networks, optimize routes, and ensure delivery schedules are met according to business requirements.
Align import and export operations with regulatory standards, ensuring complete and accurate documentation for cross-border cargo exchanges.
Monitor and report on operational KPIs, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
Facilitate strong working relationships with port authorities, clearance agencies, vendors, and service providers for uninterrupted cargo flow.
Ensure all health, safety, and environmental compliance standards are maintained across port and logistics operations.
