Position:
Associate Biochar Operations
Responsibilities
Identify, onboard, and manage farmers/FPOs for sustainable biomass sourcing.
Ensure quality procurement of biomass and prevent crop residue burning.
Supervise proper biomass storage, moisture control, and inventory management (FIFO system).
Operate and monitor pyrolysis units for efficient biochar production.
Record daily biomass input, production output, and plant performance data.
Ensure biochar quality standards (fixed carbon %, pH, moisture, contamination control).
Oversee biochar cooling, processing, proper mixing, enrichment, and safe storage.
Maintain batch-wise traceability from sourcing to soil application.
Implement DMRV (Digital Monitoring, Reporting & Verification) systems and documentation.
Prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPR) covering sourcing, production, and field activities.
Coordinate farmer identification, training, field visits, and biochar application tracking.
Support carbon credit quantification, audit processes, and compliance with carbon market standards.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Forestry, Horticulture, Soil Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Knowledge of biomass sourcing and inventory management
Understanding of pyrolysis systems and biochar quality parameters
Familiarity with DMRV (Digital Monitoring, Reporting & Verification) processes
Basic knowledge of carbon credit methodologies and documentation
Strong data recording, reporting, and documentation skills
Ability to manage field operations and farmer coordination
Good problem-solving and operational planning skills
Proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets for daily reporting
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
