Deputy Manager - Planning; Budgeting & Forecasting

Position: Deputy Manager - Planning (Budgeting & Forecasting)
Location: Saint Thomas Mount

1. Forecasting and Planning:
o Analyze sales figures, customer reactions, and market trends to anticipate product needs.
o Develop and implement merchandise plans, budgets, and strategies that align with the company’s financial goals.
o Forecast sales and stock needs based on historical sales data, market trends, and promotional events.
2. Inventory Management:
o Manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet customer demand without overstocking or under stocking.
o Monitor inventory flow and make buying recommendations that align with customer demand.

Collaboration:

o Work closely with buyers, suppliers, distributors, and analysts to negotiate prices, quantities, and delivery time-scales.
o Coordinate with the marketing department to determine promotional activities and clearance sales.
4. Financial Reporting:
o Incorporate financial reporting and budget requirements into merchandise plans and recommendations.
o Set financial targets and manage open-to-buy budgets to ensure the company’s financial goals are met.
5. Data Analysis:
o Review historical data and forecast trends to determine the volume, allocation, and distribution of merchandise.
o Use systematic methods and tools to monitor stock-to-sale ratios and sales trend data.

Experience  : 4 to 8 Years

Education  :
Minimum qualification – Graduation in fashion Retail Management / Fashion Management Institute.

Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision, an organized and thorough approach to work

Good analytical skills
Strong reporting, high on team spirits and prioritizing skills
Good organizational, self-management and goal setting skills
Ability to manage a heavy workload and at times conflicting priorities as well as tracking progress on a wide range of tasks
Relevant experience at a senior level from a value retail background and product knowledge will be added advantage
