Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Group Lead – Agro to lead our Hyderabad R&D team. This role is responsible for driving the strategic direction of agrochemical R&D projects , managing a group of chemists, and ensuring successful development of products from lab to pilot scale.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee synthesis, process development, and formulation projects for agrochemical products.
Mentor, train, and manage a team of Junior and Senior chemists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Drive technology transfer and scale-up from lab to pilot plant and support manufacturing integration.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, analytical, regulatory, and quality for successful product delivery.
Define and execute R&D strategies and roadmaps, aligned with business objectives and market needs.
Ensure compliance with GLP, EHS, GMP, and other applicable regulatory standards.
Identify new opportunities for innovation, cost optimization, and process improvements.
Represent R&D in management meetings and provide regular project updates.
Key Skills & Competencies
Qualification:
M.Sc. / Ph.D. (Organic Chemistry)
Strong technical expertise in organic chemistry, agrochemical synthesis, and formulations.
Proven experience in leading and managing R&D teams (10+ members preferable).
Expertise in process development, scale-up, and analytical techniques (NMR, HPLC, GC, LC-MS).
Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to drive multiple projects in parallel and deliver results within timelines.
