Job Description:
Job Summary
We are looking for a PPAT Development Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Qualcomm SoCs to optimize power, performance, thermal behavior, and silicon area across Android/Linux platforms. The role involves close collaboration with kernel, BSP, firmware, and hardware teams to achieve system-level efficiency targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Power Optimization
Analyze and optimize power consumption on Qualcomm SoCs (Snapdragon / QCS / QRB).
Work on CPU/GPU/DSP/NPU power profiling using Qualcomm tools.
Optimize low-power modes (sleep, idle, suspend, deep sleep).
Configure and tune PMIC, clocks, voltage rails, and power domains.
Implement and tune DVFS, CPUfreq, Devfreq.
Performance Optimization
Analyze system bottlenecks (CPU, memory, I/O, GPU).
Optimize scheduler behavior (EAS, HMP, CFS tuning).
Improve boot time, app launch time, and runtime performance.
Performance tuning for camera, multimedia, AI, and connectivity stacks.
Thermal Management
Design and tune thermal mitigation strategies.
Configure thermal zones, cooling devices, and throttling policies.
Analyze thermal logs and optimize to prevent performance throttling.
Coordinate with hardware teams for thermal sensor calibration.
Area (Silicon Efficiency)
Collaborate with SoC and firmware teams to reduce memory footprint.
Optimize binaries, drivers, and services for RAM/ROM efficiency.
Identify redundant components and optimize system services.
Tools & Analysis
Use Qualcomm tools such as:
Trepn Profiler
Snapdragon Profiler
Power Debug Tools
QXDM / QCAT
Perfetto / Systrace / ftrace
Analyze logs, traces, and KPIs to drive optimizations.
Platform Integration
Work with Android Framework, HAL, Kernel, and BSP teams.
Integrate PPAT changes into AOSP / Yocto / Linux BSPs.
Support bring-up and optimization for new Qualcomm chipsets.
Required
Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory
Strong experience on Qualcomm SoC platforms
Deep understanding of Linux kernel & Android internals
Experience with :
CPUfreq / Devfreq
Thermal framework
Power HAL / Performance HAL
Strong debugging and profiling skills
Experience in Android or Embedded Linux (Yocto)
Preferred
Experience with Qualcomm camera, multimedia, or AI stacks
Knowledge of ARM architecture
Experience in device bring-up
Familiarity with Qualcomm BSP releases
