ATHARVA FOUNDRIES PVT. LTD .is a leading producer of high-quality S.G. Iron castings, committed to excellence in production, quality, and safety.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sand Plant Engineer to join our dynamic team and ensure the efficiency and quality of our sand system operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day sand plant operations, including sand mixing, reclamation, and distribution processes for high-pressure green sand moulding lines.
Monitor and maintain correct sand quality parameters (moisture content, active clay/bentonite, hardness, etc.) as per process standards to minimize casting defects like sand inclusion and blowholes.
Manage the performance, preventive maintenance (PM), and breakdown maintenance (BD) of all sand plant equipment, such as mixers (e.g., Eirich), bucket elevators, belt conveyors, vibrofeeders, pneumatic conveying systems, and dust collectors.
Analyze production data and quality control reports to identify process improvements, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational costs and rejection rates.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance departments, to ensure smooth workflow and address any process-related issues promptly.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure strict adherence to all safety, health, and environmental guidelines within the sand plant area.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, raw material (new sand, bentonite, resins) usage, production data, and shift performance.
Lead and mentor the sand plant team, providing training on best practices and new procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field; a Diploma with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a highly mechanized ferrous (Cast Iron/SG Iron) foundry environment, with hands-on experience in sand system operations and maintenance.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of foundry processes, especially green sand molding, sand testing parameters, and sand control.
Maintenance Expertise:
Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of heavy foundry machinery.
Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions.
Soft Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
