Location: Mundra
Purpose/Objective
To provide strategic leadership and overall management for the Oxygen Free Copper & Alloy Plant. This role is accountable for all aspects of the plant's performance, including production, quality, maintenance, and safety, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products while meeting business objectives.
Key Responsibilities of Role
Operational excellence: Lead all plant operations, from raw material handling and furnace operations to continuous casting, rolling, and finishing. Ensure consistent production of high-quality oxygen-free copper and alloy products.
Strategic direction: Define the plant's strategic roadmap, including targets for production efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement. Drive implementation of long-term projects and initiatives.
Team leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professionals, including managers and supervisors from production, engineering, and maintenance departments.
Budget and financial management: Oversee the development and management of the plant's budget, including capital expenditure and operational costs. Ensure optimal resource allocation and cost control.
Safety & quality assurance: Champion a culture of safety and operational discipline. Ensure strict adherence to all quality standards (e.g., ISO) and lead efforts to continuously improve product quality and process stability.
Stakeholder engagement: Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders, including R&D, commercial, and corporate leadership, as well as external technology partners and vendors.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Chemical).
Experience:
12+ years of extensive experience in a continuous process or heavy manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Direct experience with metallurgical processes, especially continuous casting and hot rolling, is essential.
Skills:
Deep knowledge of metallurgical processes, quality systems, and advanced process control.
Certifications:
Master Black Belt or other advanced certification in Lean/Six Sigma is a significant plus.
