Job Description
The Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical and automation systems involved in stainless steel pipe manufacturing operations. This includes maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of power distribution systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and control panels supporting pipe mills, rolling mills, welding, sizing, and finishing lines. The role requires close coordination with production and mechanical teams to minimize downtime, support smooth plant operations, and maintain compliance with electrical safety standards and statutory regulations.

The Electrical Engineer also contributes to preventive maintenance programs, commissioning of new equipment, energy optimization initiatives, and documentation to support high-quality, uninterrupted production.

Principal Accountabilities
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems of rolling mills sizing mills straightening machines cuttolength lines and finishing equipment  Handle ACDC drives VFDs motors encoders load cells and control panels  Ensure uninterrupted power supply and proper functioning of HTLT panels transformers MCCs and switch gear  Perform preventive predictive and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime  Diagnose and modify PLC HMI and SCADA systems Siemens Allen Bradley ABB Schneider preferred  Work with hydraulic and pneumatic control circuits integrated with electrical systems  Support automation improvements for productivity quality and energy efficiency  Coordinate with production teams to optimize rolling parameters  Attend breakdowns during rolling operations and ensure quick restoration  Assist during commissioning trials and upgrades of rolling mill equipment  Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards statutory norms and plant safety rules  Conduct LOTO procedures electrical audits and safety inspections  Maintain proper documentation of electrical drawings and SOPs  Monitor and optimize energy consumption of rolling mill operations  Suggest and implement cost reduction reliability and automation improvements  Participate in TPM Kaizen Lean initiatives
