Job Description
The Continuous Casting Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the continuous casting process, which transforms molten metal into solid slabs, billets, or blooms. This role involves overseeing process parameters, maintaining equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring product quality meets specifications. The engineer plays a critical role in optimizing productivity, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the casting area.

Principal Accountabilities
Plan operate and control CCM activities for stainless steel grades ensuring smooth coordination between EAF AOD LF and CCM  Control critical casting parameters such as superheat casting speed mold level secondary cooling and tundish operations to achieve targeted casting productivity yield and sequence length  Ensure compliance with ASTM ASME EN DIN JIS and customer specifications minimizing casting defects like cracks inclusions segregation porosity and slivers  Monitor billetbloomslab quality for downstream pipe manufacturing conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions  Handle a wide range of stainless steel grades defining and controlling casting practices for different grades and sizes  Coordinate with maintenance teams for mold tundish and segment maintenance EMS systems and secondary cooling circuits supporting preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown troubleshooting  Ensure strict adherence to SMS safety procedures and permit systems promoting a zeroaccident culture and conducting safety audits  Lead shift engineers supervisors and operators providing training on CCM process control defect prevention and safety practices  Review and maintain casting logs heat records quality reports NCRs and production KPIs supporting internal and external audits  Drive yield improvement defect reduction and cost optimization initiatives implementing best practices in continuous casting for stainless steel and supporting trials for new grades and process improvements
