This role requires strong technical expertise in networking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with IT teams, workplace users, and network service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Local Network Management & Operations:

• Oversee day-to-day management of local network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.

• Configure and maintain network switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points (APs).

• Manage IP addressing, VLANs, and routing configurations for seamless network performance.

• Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize network traffic and ensure smooth operations.

• Maintain network security by monitoring for unauthorized access, updating firmware, and applying security patches.

• Optimize network traffic flow to reduce congestion and enhance speed.

• Perform backup and recovery procedures for network configurations.

2. Network Port & Configuration Management:

• Manage and document network ports, patch panels, and switch connections.

• Assign, configure, and troubleshoot Ethernet and fiber optic ports for various devices.

• Ensure proper VLAN tagging to segregate traffic and improve security.

• Perform regular audits of network ports to avoid misconfigurations and unauthorized changes.

• Maintain an updated network topology diagram and ensure proper labeling of all network components.

3. Wi-Fi Signal Measurement & Signal Survey:

• Conduct Wi-Fi surveys using tools like Ekahau, Net Spot, or Wireshark to analyze signal strength and interference.

• Identify Wi-Fi dead zones, signal overlaps, and coverage gaps, and recommend solutions.

• Optimize placement of wireless access points (APs) to enhance connectivity and reduce congestion.

• Perform bandwidth allocation to ensure seamless connectivity for users and devices.

• Troubleshoot wireless network issues, including slow speeds, dropped connections, and authentication failures.

• Maintain SSID configurations, encryption standards, and security policies for wireless networks.

4. Collaboration between Workplace, Users & RNC (Regional Network Coordinator):

• Act as a liaison between local IT teams, workplace users, and the Regional Network Coordinator (RNC).

• Work closely with office and factory teams to understand their network requirements and address concerns.

• Coordinate network upgrades, expansions, and migrations with the RNC and external vendors.

• Assist workplace users in connecting to the network securely and troubleshooting access issues.

• Provide training and support to employees on network best practices and security guidelines.

• Participate in weekly or monthly meetings with the RNC to discuss network performance and upcoming projects.

5. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:

• Diagnose and resolve LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity issues affecting users.

• Monitor network performance metrics such as latency, packet loss, and bandwidth usage.

• Use network diagnostic tools (e.g., Ping, Trace route, Wireshark, Solar Winds) to analyze and resolve network issues.

• Implement preventive measures to reduce downtime and network failures.

• Escalate unresolved network problems to senior network engineers or external service providers.

• Maintain a log of network incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference.
