The Precision Medicine Scrum Master serves as a servant leader and coach , nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across a portfolio of Amgen Precision Medicine technology teams . The role requires direct Scrum Master support for one or more Agile teams. You will help maintain focus, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and support the application of Lean-Agile practices, while guiding teams in effective problem solving, backlog management, and issue tracking using Jira.
This role collaborates closely with Product Owners and Delivery Managers to track team metrics aligned with strategic roadmaps and goals, supporting Agile governance and contributing to Amgen's SAFe transformation journey .
Key Responsibilities Establish standards for Jira use , handoffs, and Agile team roles
Facilitate Agile ceremonies: Daily Stand-ups , Iteration Planning , Reviews , Retrospectives
Serve as servant leader and Lean-Agile coach within Product and Platform teams
Foster team focus by minimizing disruptions and removing impediments
Educate team members on Scrum , Lean , and Agile best practices
Support Product Owner with backlog management and work prioritization
Strengthen cross-team communication, particularly within the Agile Release Train (ART)
Track and analyze team performance metrics
Participate in Communities of Practice and foster continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications Master's degree with 4–6 years of relevant experience OR
Bachelor's degree with 6–8 years of relevant experience OR
Diploma with 10–12 years of relevant experience
(Field: Computer Science, IT, or related)
Functional Skills Must-Have
Skills:
5+ years of Delivery Management or Project Management experience
2+ years of experience in Agile environments (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban)
Experience with ITIL and validated systems environments (e.g., FDA, EMA)
Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build collaborative relationships
Strong planning and task prioritization skills
Experience in diverse, collaborative work environments
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Power Point
Experience with Jira
SAFe training experience
Good-to-Have
Skills:
Workshop facilitation experience
Experience with Slido or survey tools
Professional Certifications SAFe for Teams – Mandatory
SAFe 6 Scrum Master – Mandatory
Certified SAFe 6 Agilist – Preferred
Certified SAFe 6 Practitioner – Preferred
Certified SAFe 6 Release Train Engineer – Preferred
ITIL 4 Foundations – Preferred
Soft Skills Excellent people and project management skills
Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams
Skilled at handling multiple priorities
