Job Purpose
To train and support differently-abled individuals in acquiring vocational skills that enhance their employability, self-reliance, and social integration.

Key Responsibilities
Provide  skill-based training  (tailoring, computer literacy, crafts, electrical, carpentry, etc.) adapted to the abilities of differently-abled trainees.

Assess the  strengths, interests, and limitations  of trainees to design individualized training plans.

Modify teaching methods, tools, and materials to suit  special needs learners  (visual, hearing, intellectual, physical disabilities).

Encourage the development of  life skills and soft skills  (communication, teamwork, time management).

Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive workshop/classroom environment.

Maintain training records, progress reports, and provide regular feedback to trainees and parents/guardians.

Coordinate with  rehabilitation specialists, therapists, and employers  for holistic development and placement support.

Facilitate  exposure visits, internships, and on-the-job training  opportunities.

Motivate trainees to build confidence and pursue independent living/employment.

Requirements

Patience, empathy, and adaptability.

Knowledge of  disability-specific teaching strategies .

Strong technical expertise in the trade/skill being taught.

Effective communication and counseling skills.

Ability to inspire confidence and independence in trainees.

Team collaboration with therapists, educators, and social workers.
