Job Summary The Social Teacher will play a key role in educating students on social sciences, life skills, values, and community awareness. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching, empathetic towards children from marginalized backgrounds, and committed to Sevalaya's mission of service and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities Teach Social Science subjects (History, Civics, Geography, Economics) to students as per the curriculum.
Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and teaching aids to create an engaging learning environment.
Foster positive values, discipline, and social awareness among students.
Conduct activities, discussions, and projects to enhance students' understanding of society and real-world issues.
Track and assess student progress through assignments, tests, and participatory activities.
Provide additional academic support to students who require individual attention.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to plan co-curricular events, awareness programs, and community outreach initiatives.
Maintain classroom records, attendance, and student development reports.
Participate in teacher training, school events, and organizational activities when required.
Required Qualifications & Skills Master degree in Social Sciences.
Candidate must have completed
B.Ed.
Prior teaching experience (preferably with children from rural or underprivileged communities).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and motivating classroom environment.
Passion for social service and alignment with Sevalaya's values.
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
