About The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Interventional Cardiologist to join a busy cath lab team in Bhimavaram. This consultant-level role focuses on delivering high-quality invasive coronary care, participating in acute STEMI management, and contributing to procedural excellence and clinical governance within a multi-disciplinary hospital setting.

Role & Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic coronary angiography and a full range of percutaneous coronary interventions (elective, urgent, and primary PCI) with high technical proficiency and safety.
Lead acute STEMI workflows in the emergency setting, providing rapid decision-making and timely reperfusion for primary PCI cases.
Undertake complex coronary interventions including atherectomy, bifurcation techniques, and IVUS/OCT-guided optimization when indicated.
Collaborate with cardiology, intensivists, anaesthesia, and nursing teams to manage peri-procedural care and post-procedure follow-up.
Ensure cath lab quality standards: participate in audits, maintain procedural logs, and contribute to protocol development for safety and infection control.
Mentor junior cardiology staff and trainees, support case review meetings, and contribute to continuing medical education initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

DM/DNB Cardiology with recognized interventional training or equivalent fellowship.
Proven procedural competence in coronary angiography and PCI, including primary PCI for STEMI.
Valid medical registration with the appropriate State Medical Council/NMC.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Strong proficiency in transradial access techniques.
Experience using intravascular imaging (IVUS/OCT) and familiarity with cath lab equipment and safety protocols.

Preferred

Experience with complex PCI techniques (rotational atherectomy, CTO, bifurcation stenting).
Prior cath lab leadership, quality improvement, or training responsibilities.
Additional certifications such as BLS, structured echo training, or accreditation in invasive cardiology techniques.
