A healthcare provider operating in the secondary/tertiary care hospital sector delivering surgical, perioperative and critical-care services across Chhattisgarh. We are expanding clinical services at a busy on-site facility in Baloda Bazar and seeking a hands-on Consultant Anaesthesiologist to lead anaesthesia, perioperative and critical-care delivery for elective and emergency caseloads.

Role & Responsibilities

Provide safe, evidence-based anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgical procedures across specialties (general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics & gynaecology, ENT, paediatrics where applicable).
Conduct pre‑operative assessment, optimise comorbid patients, plan anaesthesia strategy and document informed consent for anaesthesia-related risks.
Perform regional anaesthesia techniques (spinal, epidural, peripheral nerve blocks) and advanced airway interventions; manage intraoperative haemodynamics and critical events.
Oversee post‑anaesthesia care and acute pain services; coordinate ICU transfers and provide critical-care support when required.
Implement and maintain clinical protocols, checklists and safety standards (including infection control and medication safety); participate in morbidity & mortality review and quality audits.
Supervise, mentor and train junior doctors, nurse anaesthetists and OT staff; ensure equipment readiness and participate in service planning for the Baloda Bazar facility.

Skills & Qualifications

Must‑Have

MD/DNB/DA (Anaesthesiology) or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Valid medical registration with the appropriate State Medical Council in India.
Proven clinical experience delivering general and regional anaesthesia in a hospital setting.
Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent.
Strong airway management skills including endotracheal intubation and perioperative ventilatory care.
Ability to work full-time on-site at Baloda Bazar and manage emergency/after-hours on-call duties.

Preferred

Experience with ultrasound-guided regional blocks and perioperative ultrasound use.
Prior experience in ICU management or anaesthesia leadership roles in secondary-care hospitals.
Familiarity with enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) pathways and acute pain services.
