Introduction:
HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to give you hands-on experience to help establish clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse you will be supported by nurse educators, experienced nurses, and peers to transition from student nurse to registered nurse. At HCA Healthcare

Benefits and relocation bonus information is available as part of the program, including up to $30,000 in sign-on bonuses and a $5,000 relocation offer. Units available for openings include Med Surg, Cardiac, PCU, Orthos, Oncology, Rehab, Transplant, Renal, among others. Some units may be limited by need.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting changes in status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document care in the patient record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and notify the provider if interventions are needed.
- Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate needs to deliver exceptional care.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures; translate complex medical terminology as needed.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
- No previous experience required
- Some travel may be needed for training
- Other certifications may be required during employment
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at our Kansas City area hospitals provides a structured pathway to support your transition from classroom to clinical practice, with hands-on experiences, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulations, mentoring, and a targeted evidence-based practice project.
