Material Planner

Our client, in consumer packaged goods industry, is seeking a Material Planner to join their team. The ideal candidate will have supply chain experience, team playing and organizational skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Material Planner

Location: Independence MO/ONSITE

Pay Range: $25 - $30 hourly

Contract: 6 Months (extensions possible)

• Manage raw and packaging material planning by reviewing MRP signals, ensuring timely supply, expediting/de‑expediting as needed, and maintaining alignment with production schedules and customer service goals.
• Optimize inventory and reduce waste through effective inventory strategy execution, continuous monitoring, and proactive prevention of obsolescence and runouts.
• Maintain accurate master data and processes
  , manage invoicing exceptions, and support flawless execution of innovation launches.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Production, Procurement, Quality, R&D, Supply Planners, Suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure reliable manufacturing operations.
• Lead process improvement and change initiatives by applying World Class Manufacturing principles, driving best practices, training others, and identifying enhancements in SAP and other planning systems.

• Bachelor’s degree with focus in an analytical discipline preferred (e.g. Supply Chain Management, computer science, math, statistics, economics, engineering, etc.).
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in supply chain. At least 2 years in material requirements planning is preferred.
• Being able to balance objectives of different teams that are sometimes at tension with each other and influencing a group of practitioners to change behaviors even though you do not have direct authority over them will be critical to success.
• Understanding of data‑mining techniques, root cause analysis and statistical methods
• Proficiency in PC based software tools, specially MS Excel. Knowledge of SAP ECC a plus.
