Puppy Luv Pet Services is a reputable, multi-state pet care company serving clients across Arlington and Alexandria (VA), Washington D.C., and lower Maryland.

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Part-Time Dog Groomer to join our dedicated team in the Columbia and Laurel, Maryland area. This role is perfect for a professional groomer who is committed to providing exceptional care, ensuring the comfort, health, and overall well-being of our furry clients.

• Perform a full range of grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, professional haircuts (clipping and scissor work), nail trimming, and ear cleaning for dogs of various breeds and sizes.
• Assess each dog's coat and skin condition, recommending and executing appropriate grooming techniques and styles based on breed standards and specific client preferences.
• Safely handle and expertly restrain dogs throughout all grooming procedures, prioritizing their comfort and safety at all times.
• Maintain a pristine and organized grooming station, adhering to strict sanitation protocols for all tools, equipment, and the workspace.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically with pet owners to fully understand their grooming needs and provide personalized service consultations.
• Monitor and accurately report any health issues, abnormalities, or changes in behavior observed during grooming sessions to the pet owner or supervisor.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns, answering grooming-related questions, and offering professional advice and product recommendations.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure a smooth, efficient, and positive workflow within the grooming department.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including maintaining accurate, detailed records of services provided and client information.

• Minimum of 1–3 years of verifiable, professional dog grooming experience.
• In-depth knowledge of various dog breeds, coat types, and specialized grooming techniques.
• Proficiency in a variety of grooming styles with the ability to adapt to diverse client preferences.
• Strong understanding of canine behavior and proven ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments calmly and safely.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for positive interactions with pet owners and team members.
• Ability to work independently and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
• A professional portfolio of your grooming work is a plus, but not strictly required.
• High attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to maintaining the highest grooming standards.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and safely restrain dogs of various sizes.
• Flexibility to work a part-time schedule that may include weekends and holidays as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from a recognized grooming school or association is preferred.
• Previous experience in animal care or a related field is a benefit.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• A genuine passion for animal welfare and a calm, non-threatening manner when interacting with all animals.
