Key Responsibilities- Provide compassionate care to all patients.
- Greet patients and owners, take patient weight and vital signs, and guide them to the examination room.
- Triage patients, perform physical exams, and administer medications as directed by licensed veterinary technicians (LVTs).
- Calm and soothe anxious patients.
- Assist doctors and technicians with medication administration and patient restraint.
- Perform laboratory tests and take radiographs.
- Operate and maintain hospital equipment, including EKG, fluid pump, syringe pump, scales, anesthetic monitors, and other machines.
- Fill prescriptions, calculate and administer medications, and maintain proper documentation and controlled drug security.
- Feed patients as prescribed, record appetites, and report abnormal conditions.
- Communicate positively with clients, ensuring they feel comfortable leaving their pet(s).
- Educate clients about insurance, wellness, and medicine plans.
- Maintain daily hospital cleanliness, including equipment, kennels, and facilities.
- Bath and care for patients staying overnight; ensure all animals are clean and groomed before release.
- Adhere to hospital safety and wellness regulations.
- Interpret oral and written directions accurately.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Show up for work regularly; full‑time presence at work is essential for every shift.
- Promote hospital products and services.
- Respond promptly and respectfully to the directions of the DVM or LVT.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager; may have additional duties in specialty areas (dentistry, surgery, emergency, radiology, cardiology, neurology, internal medicine, etc.).
- At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital/setting.
- Experience with cat and dog restraint, vaccine administration, and sample collection (skin, ear, fur).
- Veterinary terminology knowledge and client intake for examination by DVM.
- Assisting with radiograph placement and answering phones.
- Administering medications prescribed by DVM (SQ injection, mouth, ear, eye).
- Performing surgical prep/cleanup.
- Kennel experience: cleaning, walking, bathing.
- Knowledge of surgical prep and cleanup.
- Cytology interpretation experience (skin/ears).
- Must be available on both Sunday and Saturday.
$22 – $23 USD
