POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Technician plays a hands‑on role in supporting quality standards throughout the manufacturing of modular homes. This position works directly with production teams to verify workmanship, perform testing, assist with troubleshooting, and help implement corrective actions to ensure homes meet company standards and applicable building codes. The Quality Technician actively supports production efficiency while promoting continuous improvement and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities- Perform hands‑on quality checks and testing of manufactured home builds and sub‑assemblies, including but not limited to:
- Electrical systems testing
- Fire suppression standards
- General construction and finish work
- Conduct in‑process verifications to ensure work meets design specifications and company standards.
- Read and interpret home design shop drawings and production specifications to support accurate builds.
- Partner with production teams to identify root causes of defects and assist in implementing practical, efficient solutions.
- Support production staff with training and guidance on proper quality procedures and workmanship standards.
- Assist in verifying that materials and components meet quality expectations prior to installation.
- Collaborate with supply chain and production leadership to resolve material or workmanship concerns.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, reduce rework, and improve production flow.
- Help maintain organized and accurate quality documentation.
- Promote and model a culture of quality, accountability, and teamwork.
- Some construction experience required.
- Experience in a construction or manufacturing technician role preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret home building plans and production drawings.
- Working knowledge of construction materials, building systems, and installation practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to coach and support production team members.
- Degree in Construction Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.
- This position is an in‑person role
- Must be competent and comfortable in computer skills and navigate modern technology often (Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365, etc)
- This role requires signing a confidentiality agreement
- May require a reference check that speaks to the positive character of the applicant
- May be regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time, lift or carry more than 50 pounds, climb/balance on stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
