Coach​/OPs Mgr Trainee

Overview

Position Summary:

Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, listening to associates, touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides the implementation of business solutions and objectives. Models exceptional customer service standards using the One Best Way (OBW) service model and supports customer service initiatives and community programs.

Develops action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process-improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

• Drive financial performance for the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses aligned to sales.
• Ensure effective merchandise presentation, manage seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
• Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing associates, and fostering a sense of belonging.
• Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, and tracking progress toward results.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and ethics; support Open Door Policy and apply these principles to business processes and practices.
• Promote a culture of belonging, collaboration, and continuous learning; attract, develop, and retain talent.
• Lead and participate in change initiatives; model integrity, accountability, and the Walmart values; support efforts to become a regenerative company.
• Deliver results for customers by applying data-driven decision making, EDLP/EDLC models, and balancing short- and long-term priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement and the adoption of new technologies and skills to support change management.

• Minimum Qualifications
  : 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
• For facilities selling firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
• For facilities selling only ammunition with state requirements: may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
• Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

• Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
  Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership; experience supervising 5+ direct reports with responsibilities for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

• The hourly wage range is $31.25 - $38.46, with potential bonuses and other compensation. Regional Pay Zone and state pay differentials may apply where required.
