The Village of Brookfield Parks and Recreation Department is seeking qualified candidates for the seasonal position of Teensy Tiny Tots Lead Teacher. The Teensy Tiny Tots program operates in the Village Hall classroom on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Children ages 2-3 years old participate in this play-based program. Many of our students wear diapers to class, but we do not change the diapers.
If a diaper is soiled, we call the parent to come change their child's diaper. We are looking for qualified, kind, energetic, health and safety conscious people who have a genuine love for working with children.
- The starting hourly rate is $17 - $20 DOQ.
- Work Location - Village Hall Classroom.
- Work Days/
Hours:
Mondays and Wednesdays: 8:30 a.m.
- 11:00 a.m.- Additional 1 - 2 hours/week for planning and clean procedures.
- Additional opportunities to teach with other programs.
- Report to and perform duties assigned by the Early Childhood Supervisor.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Display a positive and professional attitude while performing duties and talking with parents.
- Prepare and set-up activities.
- Implement portions of the daily program and work with the assistant teacher.
- Manage behavior issues and procedures.
- Interact with parents in a polite and professional manner.
- Assist with keeping the classroom, storage areas, and bathrooms clean, neat and orderly and sanitized.
- Oversee with daily cleaning procedures.
- Follow all safety and emergency procedures including the evacuation plan.
- Follow Village and departmental work rules, procedures, and policies.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
- Must hold and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Must have prior experience working with young children.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift and carry 40 pounds.
- Must be able to see and hear students, in case of an emergency.
- Must be able to fold, tear, cut and tape paper. Must be able to trace and print.
