IT Field Support Associate

Overview

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations (CDCR) is hiring an Information Technology Associate (ITA) located at Calipatria State Prison (CAL) in Imperial County, California. This is a full‑time, permanently in‑office position with a standard 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM shift, Monday through Friday.

• Provide face‑to‑face, hands‑on support of end‑user devices, printers, and networking equipment.
• Deliver training and general help‑desk services to staff and inmates.
• Support IT service delivery to various programs that uphold CDCR’s mission.
• Serve as the first level of support within the CDCR Enterprise Information Services team.

• Must reside in California at the time of appointment.
• Possess strong writing, analytical, and research skills.
• Ability to learn advanced troubleshooting of technology issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Effective interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
• Ability to follow established local procedures and directions.
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive workplace.

• Experience in troubleshooting technology and providing end‑user support.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and persuade stakeholders.
• Proven track record of exercising good judgment under pressure.
