Position OverviewSenior Psychologist, CF (Supervisor) – Calipatria State Prison (CAL), Calipatria, CA. This limited‑term position may be extended or become permanent. Recruitment and retention bonuses may be available.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct clinical supervision and training to subordinate psychologists.
- Perform complex psychological evaluations and associated treatment of inmate‑patients.
- Assist in program development, evaluation, research, training, clinical consultation, and revision of department policy.
- Serve as a specialized psychological consultant to institutional staff upon request.
- Valid license as a Psychologist issued by the California Board of Psychology.
- Earned Doctorate Degree in Psychology from a program meeting Section 2914 of the Business and Professions Code.
- Either:
- One year of experience in California state service performing duties of a Psychologist Clinical, Correctional Facility, or Staff Psychologist; or
- Two years of post‑doctoral/post‑internship experience in assessment, treatment, training, research, consultation, or program planning in mental health services.
Annual salary base will be reduced by 3% during the Personal Leave Program 2025. Bonuses and stipends: $10,000 one‑time recruitment and retention stipend for qualifying candidates; $20,000 monthly differential for first year; $5,000 referral bonus for existing CDCR/CCHCS employees. Additional benefits include standard health insurance and occupational‑health assurance.
