• Under the general direction of the Senior Psychologist or Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs for patients within California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation institutions.
• Instruct and motivate patients in individual and group recreation therapy, monitor and document treatment progress, and work with other healthcare providers to share recreational therapy assessment information and incorporate recreational activities into treatment plans.
• Maintain order and supervise the conduct of patients to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property.

• Education:
  
  Equivalent to graduation from a recognized college with major work in recreation or recreation therapy, including supervised field work.
• Experience:
  
  Proven ability to work effectively in a correctional environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Certification:
  Registration as a senior is acceptable if evidence of graduation or equivalent and required field work is provided.
