BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. It is suitable for a motivated candidate with a passion for engaging with a diverse student body and fostering academic growth. Promoting diversity and inclusion is fundamental in this role, offering the opportunity to impact our diverse academic community.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:- Provide instruction according to approved curriculum, course outlines, and college needs.
- Assign classes based on availability, seniority, and qualifications, including class preparation, student evaluation, syllabus development, and assessing learning outcomes.
- Maintain and submit accurate records such as grades, syllabi, and attendance reports by deadlines.
- Uphold professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position.
- Advise students on academic matters.
- Maintain competency in the field.
Applicants may qualify through education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees. To qualify for equivalency, submit college transcripts (showing degree awarded with date) and a detailed work experience description with your application.
Required qualifications include:
- Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education.
- OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND a Master's in a related field such as life sciences, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy, OR equivalent.
Applicants must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of diverse socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).
