Part-Time Faculty - American Citizenship; Non-Credit Continuous Pool

Under the direction of the appropriate Dean, this position is a part-time temporary instructional faculty assignment. The role is suitable for an exceptionally motivated candidate who demonstrates a genuine interest in engaging with a diverse student body and has a passion for fostering academic growth and knowledge. • Provide instruction in accordance with approved Imperial Valley College curriculum and established course outlines, based on the needs of the college.
• Assignments depend on class availability, seniority, and qualifications, including conducting classes, preparing lessons, evaluating students, developing course syllabi, assessing learning outcomes, and other related duties.
• Maintain and submit accurate records such as grades, syllabi, and attendance reports according to deadlines.
• Uphold standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the position.
• Advise students on academic matters.
• Maintain competency in the field.

An applicant qualifies for this position with education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees. To qualify via equivalency, submit college transcripts and a detailed work experience description with your application.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and six semester units in American history and institutions.

Applicants should demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (AB 1725, 87360a).
