Job Description
Responsible for the engineering support, lifecycle management, and performance optimization of rotating equipment, ensuring reliability and compliance with industry standards and legislation.
Core Responsibilities
• HSEQI Compliance:
Maintain a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with HSEQI objectives, site safety rules, and legislation.
• Risk Assessment:
Provide expertise in risk assessments and investigations related to rotating equipment.
• Management of Change:
Oversee modifications and ensure compliance with change management processes for equipment.
• Project Expertise:
Support CAPEX and OPEX projects, including equipment specification, vendor assessments, and commissioning.
• Asset Lifecycle Planning:
Develop and maintain lifecycle strategies for critical rotating equipment, addressing upgrades, compliance, and obsolescence.
• Reliability Improvement:
Monitor performance and lead reliability investigations to minimize maintenance costs.
• Condition Monitoring:
Deliver fault diagnostics and manage condition-monitoring programs in collaboration with technicians.
• Technical Documentation:
Develop and audit standards for rotating equipment and author repair methodologies.
• Competence Management:
Define and audit competence processes for rotating equipment-related roles.
• Technical Standards Maintenance:
Keep technical standards updated in line with current regulations.
• Secondary Responsibilities
• Commercial Oversight:
Ensure compliance with commercial policies for subcontracted works.
• Cost Optimization:
Drive cost efficiencies by optimizing maintenance strategies and contracts.
• Strategic Planning:
Participate in sitewide maintenance and reliability strategy meetings.
• Supplier Coordination:
Act as a liaison with external vendors and contractors for repairs and upgrades.
• Turnaround Planning:
Technically support turnaround planning activities for rotating equipment.
Education Requirements/Key Skills
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional competence.
• Minimum of HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience in mechanical engineering, specialising in refinery rotating equipment.
• Familiarity with key refinery processes, including reciprocating compressors, API pumps, and turbo machinery.
• Proven expertise in equipment condition monitoring and fault diagnostics.
• Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
