The Inventory Control Clerk conducts cycle counts and bin location audits, assists in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies, and collaborates with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager on inventory‑related functions concerning materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in the stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform physical counts of inventory items to maintain accurate inventory.
- Count and reconcile randomly chosen or selected part numbers and/or locations daily.
- Accurately input inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
- Complete necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on time.
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies and recommend remedial actions.
- Use motorized equipment including Order Picker, Sit‑Down Forklift, and Stand‑Up Reach Truck.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with inventory processes, procedures, and contractual obligations.
- Physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
- Minimum 1–3 months of related experience and/or training in inventory control.
- Minimum 1–3 months of related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
- Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
- Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
- PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access Database.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and write emails.
- Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
