Location: Scott Air Force Base
Duties Continued from Summary :
Resolves problems and assists with the development of policy, directive and implementation actions associated with the planning and application of airlift capability. Coordinates with USTRANSCOM and other Air Mobility Command (AMC) agencies on planning issues and policy directives. Duties/Responsibilities :
* Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of airlift mission schedules in support of Air Mobility Command and/or supported Combatant Commands.
* Develops complex detailed Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) for high-visibility airlift missions.
* Ensures appropriate airlift operations changes are implemented to enhance mission performance.
* Develops and prepares briefs and reports on airlift operations support issues as directed by senior AMC or 618 AOC leaders and performs special complex projects as requested.
* Instrumental for air transportation operations procedural matters in advising senior management decision makers on complex strategic and combat delivery airlift operations issues. Requirements Conditions of employment

* May be required to travel by military or commercial transportation when performing TDY duties.
* Employee must be able to work independently under pressure for varying periods of time, to resolve/provide solutions to a myriad of problems requiring air operations expertise and may be required to work overtime.
* May be required to work varying hours and possibly rotating shifts, to include responding to short-notice contingency operations.
* Position requires performance of periodic ancillary training as directed by DoD, Air Force, AMC, and 618 AOC (TACC).
* Workload may require weekend/holiday work and uncommon hours.
* Must be available during contingency/emergency response operations, and as required by the supervisor, shift work may be required as part of the Contingency Response Cell (CRC) or as directed by a supervisor.
* Position requires periodic on-call duty to support worldwide operations and short-notice, high-priority missions.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
* Must have knowledge in the proper handling of classified documents.
* This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting and remain on duty during phased or early release.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. [CONT...]

EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes: experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal which demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations and familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations;
Knowledge of a wide range of air transportation operations policies, principles, practices, operational concepts, processes, flight following operations, procedures and guidelines, including but not limited to flight operations, Air Force flying instructions, aircrew flying limitations and crew rest requirements, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARS), airfield information and restrictions, Flight Information Publications (FLIP) documents, guidelines, worldwide route planning, international airway routes and structures, controlled and uncontrolled airspace, and worldwide diplomatic clearance requirements;
Knowledge of organic and commercially contracted air transportation operations, aircraft performance capabilities, restrictions, limitations, and policies;
Knowledge of various computer programs that pertain to the command and control of transportation operations and those systems required to perform the work. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
