Job Description
This position helps make gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church. Performs semi or unskilled physical labor and building maintenance activities as instructed.
Responsibilities- Perform general labor tasks including site preparation, demolition, material handling, and cleanup.
- Assist carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled trades as needed.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and correctly.
- Load, unload, and stage materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Measure, cut, and assemble building materials under supervision.
- Mix, pour, or place concrete, gravel, and other materials as directed.
- Help with installation, repair, or maintenance of building components (framing, drywall, flooring, fixtures, etc.).
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard‑free work areas.
- Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and job‑site procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- 3 years experience
- Basic understanding of construction practices, tools, and job‑site safety.
- Maintenance experience or Trade Tech school training desirable
- Physically able and willing to do strenuous work involving shovels, picks, and other tools, sometimes under inclement weather conditions
- Understand English for general communication, video training, building security, and safety. Capable of understanding instructions both verbally and in writing, and able to listen and ask clarifying questions as needed.
- Must pass all required safety and equipment certifications and trainings.
- Must be able to work in a professional manner with others as well as alone without constant supervision.
- Must have a positive attitude with the ability to work as a team.
- May be required to have a valid driver's license
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to independently lift objects weighing as much as 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must also be able to team lift and position objects weighing as much as 100 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and mechanical lifts for extended periods of time.
- Work for extended periods of time standing, kneeling, stooping, squatting, sitting or prone positions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with forklifts, trucks, and construction equipment
