Overview

Western Grain Marketing specializes in providing comprehensive grain handling, storage, and marketing solutions for customers. We are committed to being the leading grain marketing and service company in our area. A Grain Maintenance Specialist plays a vital role in keeping our grain facilities operating safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for maintenance, installation, dismantling, and repair of grain handling equipment while supporting safety, operational excellence, and customer service.

Salary range: $15 to $20 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, maintain, and repair grain handling equipment and systems.
  • Install and dismantle conveyors, pulleys, gearboxes, clutches, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, including inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues including logical, step by step problem-solving techniques.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine proper work procedures.
  • Safely dismantle and move machinery using appropriate tools and equipment such as hoists, dollies, and trucks.
  • Maintain company equipment according to company and safety standards.
  • Follow OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Assist with other maintenance or operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery.
  • Familiarity with grain handling processes and safety protocols.
  • The role involves physical labor, requiring lifting and moving heavy objects for loading and unloading.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Commitment to following safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Strong organization.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • This position requires driving for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
