Qualified Signal Maintainer

Our company is currently hiring Signals and Communications Maintainers across Canada for full‑time field‑based work. While our priority is signal‑qualified maintainers with hands‑on experience, we’re also open to considering apprentices who have completed formal S&C training and are field‑ready.

All candidates must be eligible to work on CPKC property.

Work cycles vary depending on client needs. Typically 8 days on/6 days off or 7 days on/7 days off.

• Minimum of two (2) years of Signals & Communications experience
• Experience in crossing deactivations
• Ability to pass eRailSafe (background check)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with Abstract
• Must be willing to travel across Canada
• Must be willing to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing (safety sensitive position)
• Hold a valid signal maintainer certificate (CN ATP, CP, or equivalent)

• Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad S&C equipment
• Regulatory testing of S&C equipment (weekly, monthly, semi‑annually, etc.)
• Utilize testing equipment and software
• Lead a crew as acting foreman (up to 6 other employees)
• Timekeeping
• Maintain documents, records, and reports as required
• Operate Hi‑rail vehicles
• Operate various power tools
• Provide daily updates to the field manager
• Other duties as assigned

• Competitive wage range is $34.00–$50.00/hour
