OverviewA manufacturer of industrial control and automation products is seeking an Inside Sales Manager to lead a growing inside sales team. The company provides switches, relays, PLCs, operator interfaces, safety products, panel components, and automation solutions used across manufacturing and industrial automation environments. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing people, building structure, and taking on greater responsibility as the organization and customer base expand.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop an inside sales team, ensuring clear goals, strong execution, and continuous improvement
- Build and refine sales processes that support revenue growth, lead generation, and new account development
- Work closely with marketing, product, and field sales to accelerate opportunities and improve the customer experience
- Oversee pipeline activity, qualification, follow-up, and closing assistance
- Support customer inquiries involving technical products such as machine control, safety devices, operator interface equipment, panel components, and automated guided vehicle solutions
- Provide training on products and sales techniques to strengthen technical and commercial understanding
- Use KPIs and CRM tools (Salesforce or similar) to analyze performance and drive decision-making
- Research applications, customer needs, and buying behaviors in manufacturing and automation markets
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years in an inside sales leadership role
- Experience developing high‑performing sales teams and improving sales processes
- Technical aptitude in one or more areas: machine control, safety systems, operator interface/HMI, panel design, automated guided vehicles, or related automation technologies
- Strong communication, customer focus, and problem‑solving skills
- CRM and Microsoft Office proficiency
This position has a direct impact on revenue growth and customer relationships within fast‑moving manufacturing and automation sectors. As the team scales, this role will continue to expand, offering opportunities to grow headcount, refine strategy, and own a larger portion of the commercial function. This is a ground level opportunity in the NW Suburbs of Chicago.
