Position Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that manufactured products and services meet company and customer quality standards. This role includes inspecting raw materials, performing dimensional and functional inspections, and verifying finished products. The position involves blueprint interpretation, use of measuring equipment, and the creation and review of inspection records. The Quality Inspector also supports the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) through documentation, corrective actions, and participation in audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform dimensional inspections on metallic and non-metallic products, including machined, fabricated, stamped, and welded components. Utilize hand tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, surface plates) and automated inspection equipment such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs). Interpret drawings including GD&T and program applicable equipment as needed.

  • Conduct receiving inspections of materials and services, verifying specifications and material certificates.

  • Perform final inspections on completed products, including documentation review and record generation.

  • Create and maintain inspection records (paper and electronic) using inspection software. Records may include standardized industrial documents such as PPAP or First Article Inspection (AS9102).

  • Participate in the Quality Management System, including tracking non-conformances, supporting corrective actions, and assisting with internal audits.

  • Log inspection activities in ERP or quality systems as required.

  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required;
    Associate degree or higher preferred. Equivalent manufacturing or quality control experience may be considered.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in quality control or roles involving dimensional inspection and quality systems.

  • Experience with CMM programming and software (e.g., Inspec, Polyworks, CMM Manager, PC-DMIS) is preferred.

  • English required; bilingual English/Spanish is encouraged.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of drawing interpretation, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Familiarity with hand measuring tools, CMMs, and programming measurement equipment.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with team members.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and manage time effectively.
