* Job Description:

* * Assist with newborn care at deliveries, providing immediate care and support to newborns during and after delivery.
* Maintain skills in neonatal resuscitation to respond effectively in emergencies.
* Demonstrate assessment skills in high and low-risk obstetrical patients to identify potential risks and health issues.
* Identify and report maternal and newborn problems to the physician promptly.
* Assist with the transfer of newborns to other facilities when indicated, ensuring safe and efficient transfers.
* Accurately identify and band newborns, mothers, and significant others to prevent mix-ups.
* Document all care activities accurately, including band identification numbers in medical records.
* Provide care during obstetrical surgical procedures, assisting in the Labor & Delivery Operating Suite.
* Perform intraoperative and post-anesthesia care according to established standards.
* Conduct steam sterilization processing for instruments and supplies, ensuring all sterilization parameters are met.
* Provide emotional support for grieving parents, offering compassionate support and connecting them with appropriate support groups.
* Educate and support families about newborn care, health conditions, and post-discharge care.

* Associate's of Nursing  (Required), Bachelor's of Nursing Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) - RQI Resuscitation Quality Improvement, Neonatal Med Certification (NEONATAL MED) - Accredited Issuing Body, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - EV Accredited Issuing Body, Registered Nurse (RN) - EV Accredited Issuing Body
